"Rosneft" investment in innovation activity in 2011-2015 will amount 50 billion rubles, according to a program of innovation development of the company.In 2011 the company has sent 8.4 billion rubles, in 2010 - 3 billion rubles for the financing of innovation activity.

20 priority areas of innovation, including, in particular, unconventional sources of hydrocarbons (viscous oil, gas-hydrates, coaleum), nonhydrocarbon raw materials, oil-gas technology, GTL, as well as alternative energy forms are allocated in the program.

One of the key production goals of the company in the field production is the transfer of resources in East Siberia and the shelves in proven reserves, as well as the cost minimizing of reserve increment. To accomplish these tasks "Rosneft" is in need of high-resolution technologies of searching and evaluation of resources, laboratory facilities for non-standard penetrating studies of reservoir properties and fluids, technologies of 3D-modeling of complex geological structures.

In the field of exploration and production the company has set the task to increase the coefficient of oil recovery, to minimize the specific capital and operating costs, to increase the use of oil-dissolved gas to 95%. To do this tasks the company needs new systems of the development of low-permeability and complex structure reservoirs, design and construction technology of high-tech wells. In addition, the localization and development of remaining reserves technologies, gas separation and evolution of valuable components technologies, installations for the production of liquid hydrocarbons from gas are necessary.
