Russian grain exports in 2011

Grain exports from Russia from Russia to the end of 2011 will reach previously forecasted 18 million tons."As of today, according to the FCS, 17.9 million tons of grain were exported, I think, before the end of the year we will reach projected figure of 18 million tons," – First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov said to "Interfax" on Thursday December 29. He confirmed that the results of the agricultural year, which ends June 30 2012, the exports could reach 24 million tons.
As the First Deputy Prime Minister, the heavy grain yield gathered during the current year contributed to this achievement.
Rosstat reported today that net weight of bulk yield of grain was 93.8 million tons against 60.9 million tons in 2010.
At the Russian government presidium meeting Zubkov announced the fact that the export of grain to the end of this year will be 18 million tons.
The forecast was realized despite the fact that some experts had serious doubts that such quantity of grain would be able to send abroad. At that they were referring primarily to insufficient development of the port infrastructure.
At present Russian grain is shipped in 84 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. "In fact, Russia now feeds almost half of the world with grain", - the first vice-premier stated previously, stressing that it was possible to fully restore the position of the world grain market and to enter the three largest exporters of wheat in the world.
In addition Russia has begun to export vegetable oil and sugar, exports of poultry meat is also increasing.
